BANGOR, ME – Husson University’s women’s volleyball fell in 3 straight sets to Colby College. Husson’s record falls to 14-3, while Colby improves to 5-9.
Husson fell 25-14, 25-12, and 25-14. Colby College’s Heather Arvidson (JR, Andover, MA) led the Mules to victory with 10 kills, followed by Lily Kramlich-Taylor (FY, Sacramento, CA) 9 kills, and Caitlin Burchill (JR, Walpole, MA) 6 kills. Kate Pleasants (FY, Virginia Beach, VA) recorded 4 aces, 23 assists, and 14 digs for the game. Captain Clare Reich (SR, Piedmont, CA) led the team vocally and also tallied 10 digs.
For the Eagles, Michelle Smith (SO, New Boston, NH) recorded 3 aces, 5 kills, and 10 digs. Hannah Olstad (SO, Farmington, NH) also had 5 kills on the game. Aleta Johnson (SO, Milton, NH) ended the game with 18 assists, and Captain Kaitlyn McKay (JR, Lincoln, RI) tallied 12 digs.
After the game, Husson Head Coach Pat Debeck said, “We played well, but we didn’t play up to our capabilities. Our serving was good, and our hitting was good at times. Colby is a good team, but we need to play better.”
Pleasants, Kramlich-Taylor, and Hannah Bowman (SR, Hampden-Sydney,VA) scored the set points for Colby, respectively. Kramlich-Taylor’s set point came on one of her two serving aces.
Husson University will play their next games this Saturday, October 9, in North Atlantic Conference action against Farmington and Maine Maritime Academy. Colby College will play their next game at Williams College on Friday, October 8.
