Track & Field Performs at Bowdoin Aloha Relays

Brunswick, ME - Diana Kruszewski (Auburn, ME) won the javelin throw, and Alecia Palmer (Presque Isle, ME) qualified for the Division III New England Championships in the steeplechase, leading Husson to a successful meet at the Bowdoin Aloha Relays. The team tied for fifth in the seven team competition with 50 points.

Kruszewski threw a distance of 36.43 meters (119' 6") to win the javelin event, qualifying for both New England's and ECAC's. All the Husson throwers continued to impress in the javelin, with Sarah LaPlante (Wallingford, CT) earning third place, Sara Hofmann earning fourth, and Taylor Zeigler-Miller (Bucksport, ME) coming in sixth. LaPlante also finished eighth in the shot put with a throw of 9.62m.

Palmer dropped 20 seconds off her 3000 steeplechase time to qualify for DIII New England's. She ran a 12:17.40 for a third place finish. Teammate Molly Frankinburger (Lebanon, CT) grabbed third place in the 5000 meter run with a time of 19:45.01. And, rounding out the distance field for the Eagles, Chrissy Larrabee (Brooks, ME) ran a 4:52.51 in the 1500 to clinch sixth overall.

Husson outdoor track and field will be back in action on April 28 as they travel to Regis College in Weston, MA to compete in the Regis Invitational. This will be the team's last meet before championships begin.
