South Hadley, MA - Husson's women's outdoor track and field team saw some great individual performances at Mount Holyoke College's Spring Fling Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
Chrissy Larrabee (Brooks, ME) shone on the day, running a 4:57.05 in the 1500m for third place in the event. She also set a new PR in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:26.78, good enough for fifth overall. Teammates Kateri Jeffrey (South Portland, ME), Molly Frankinburger (Lebanon, CT), and Kristi Bryer (Howland, ME) all competed in the 1500, while Katherine Medeiros (New Bedford, MA) joined Larrabee in the 800. Jeffrey's 5:24.44 was a personal best in the 1500.
The Eagles' throwers continued to impress in the field events, especially the javelin throw. Sarah LaPlante (Wallingford, CT) finished second in the event with a throw of 33.45 meters. Sara Hofmann threw 33.04 meters for fourth place, Diana Kruszewski (Auburn, ME) threw 31.93m for fifth, and Taylor Zeigler-Miller threw 31.28m for sixth. LaPlante also finished eighth in the shot put, Kruszewski got 12th, and Briana Austin (Pembroke, NH) placed 14th with a PR throw of 8.35 meters.
Kristen Lawrence (Manchester, NH) represented the sprinters on the track. She ran a fifth place 13.97 in the 100 meter dash and a 28.65 in the 200m for eighth place. Teammate Megan Darcy finished the 100m in 14.08 for 8th place and ran the 200 in 29.20 for a 15th place finish.
Rounding out the personal bests on the day, Kendra Jackson (Waterboro, ME) ran a 1:07.54 in the 400 meter and finished in tenth.
