Husson Wins First Track Meet at Regis Invitiational

Weston, Mass. - Husson University's last regular season track and field contest of the 2012 season was a day won by the Eagles. Husson sprinters throwers and jumpers dominated the field winning 6 events at the Regis Pride invitational on Saturday. 

One of the most notable performances came on the high jump,  as Breanna Harlow came in second and qualified for the New England Championships with a height of 1.57m (5'1 3/4").

Event winners included Alecia Palmer in the 3000m, Chrissy Larrabee in both the 800m and 1500m, Alex Barner in the shot put, Sarah LaPlante in the javelin, and the 4x100m relay team of Kristen Lawrence, Dem Rideout, Megan Darcy and Suze Van Dine

Other outstanding personal bests were achieved by Paige McNaughton in the shot put (9.01m), Lacy Massengale in the triple jump (8.99m), and Anna Joy and Kristi Bryer in the 3000m.

The meet marks the team's first ever meet victory and the start of the post-season for Alex Barner, Sarah LaPlante, Diana Kruszewski and Breanna Harlow. The New England Division III Championships are this weekend the 3rd, 4th and 5th of May at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Eagle athletes compete on Saturday May 5th at 10am.
