Women's Tennis Shuts Down Hornets, 9-0

BANGOR, Maine – The Eagles continued their hot streak on the court after women's tennis defeated Northern Vermont University -Lyndon, 9-0, at home on Sunday morning. 

In double action, Natalie Tilton and Hannah Malinen swept Erica Hayakawa and Rose Yar, 8-0. The other two pairs, Meridith Blessard and Ashley Matlock, plus Jocelyn Bell and Marisa Brown, each only gave up one point, working together to take down the Hornets, 8-1. 

Malinen, Julia O'Leary, and Nicci Munroe all swept the board in singles matchups, 6-0, 6-0, against NVU-Lyndon's Yar, Oo Mai Be, and Susmita Mangar. Husson's Matlock came out on top against Faibe Achinda, 6-1, 6-0 and Tilton prevailed, 6-1, 6-0 against Hayakawa. Blessard's match was cut short after winning the first set against the Hornets, 6-0. 

On Wednesday, September 19th, the Eagles will host Thomas College (Maine) at 4:00 p.m.
