Women's Tennis Dominates at Thomas, 9-0

WATERVILLE, Maine - The Husson University women's tennis team started off their season on the right foot, sweeping Thomas College, 9-0,  on Tuesday afternoon. 

In doubles action, Eagles' Meridith Blessard and Ashley Matlock took down Samantha Mercier and Cassidy Hamm on the one line, 8-0. In number two doubles, Hannah Malinen and Natalie Tilton defeated Amber Paine and Breanna Whitmarsh, 8-0. Marisa Brown and Jocelyn Bell cruised by Abigail Stevens and Makayla Guerette, 8-0, on the third line.

 Mercier was the lone Terrier to score a point, as she fell to Matlock, 6-0, 6-1. The Eagles held the Terriers scoreless in the remaining singles matches as Bessard triumphed with an 6-0, 6-0 victory over Hamm, Tilton cruised to an 6-0, 6-0 win over Whitmarsh, Malinen captured a 6-0, 6-0 achievement on Guerette, Julia O'Leary took down Paine 6-0, 6-0, and Nicci Munroe rounded out the Eagles' win with 6-0, 6-0 scores on Stevens. 

Husson tennis returns to the court with their first home match on Saturday, September 15th, hosting Northern Vermont-Johnson at 12:00 pm.
