Women's Tennis Drops Final NAC Match of Season to Colby-Sawyer, 9-0

BANGOR, Maine - The Husson University women's tennis team was defeated by Colby-Sawyer College on Sunday morning in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action at Bangor High School, 9-0.

Colby-Sawyer (8-0, 5-0 NAC) won all six singles matches. Ashley Woodside defeated Sarah Smith 6-0 and 6-0.  Charlotte Bednarz fell to Yashu Yang in straight sets 6-0, 6-0. Madd Gemerk defeated Marisa Brown 6-2 and 6-0. Elizabeth Adley was taken down by Lauren Blanchard 6-1 and 6-1. Samantha Dubay lost in straight sets to Christine Hill, 6-0 and 6-0. Hilary Boucher defeated Jacelyn Bell, 6-1 and 6-1 in the final singles match.

In double actions, Husson's (6-3, 5-2 NAC) Smith and Bednarz were taken down by Woodside and Yang on the one line, 8-0. In number two doubles, Adley and Meridith Blessard were defeated by Evelyn Miller and Aislinn O'Connor, 8-4. Brown and Dubay were tripped up by Michelle Lopes and Alexa Conlin, 8-0, on the third line.
