Women's Tennis Defeats Green Mountain, 8-1

RUTLAND, Vt. – The Husson University women's tennis team defeated Green Mountain College on Sunday morning at Vermont Sport and Fitness Club, coming away on the victorious end of an 8-1 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) decision.

Sarah Smith and Charlotte Bednarz were successful in first flight doubles, 8-3. Marisa Brown and Jocelyn Brown were similarly victorious, 8-3, in the number two doubles spot. Green Mountain handed over the third doubles point due to a default.

Sarah Smith and Charlotte Bednarz both won in the top two flight singles spots, 8-0.

Chapman claimed the lone point for Green Mountain on the afternoon battling to an 8-3 win in the pro set.

Elizabeth Adley won 8-0 in number four singles while Samantha Dubay won the fifth flight singles matchup, 6-0, 6-0. The final point of the afternoon for Husson came on a default in the last singles spot.

The Eagles will host Massachusetts Liberal Arts on Saturday, September 30, in a non-conference match at 12:00 pm.
