BANGOR, Maine- The Husson women's tennis team defeated Lyndon State College, 9-0, on Saturday afternoon.
The Eagles improve to an early 3-0 (2-0 NAC) record as the Hornets search for their first win of the season at 0-5 (0-1 NAC).
In doubles action, Charlotte Bednarz and Sarah Smith defeated Rachel Scholfied and Nichole Jones with a score of 8-1. In second doubles, Meridith Blessard and Marisa Brown defeats Faibe Achinda and Savannah Jackson, 8-2, on the line. No 3. doubles was recorded as a forfeit.
In singles action, Meridith Blessard defeated Rachel Scholfied 6-0, 6-2. Sarah Smith defeated Nichole Jones 8-3. Charlotte Bednarz blanked Savannah Jackson 6-0, 6-0. Marisa Brown won her match against Faibe Achinda 6-0, 6-0 while Elizabeth Adley defeated her opponent, Melissa Calabro, 6-0, 6-0. No. 6 singles was recorded as a forfeit.
Husson returns to the court tomorrow, September 17, as they take on Johnson State for a 12:00 p.m. match at Bangor High School.
