Eagles Improve to 2-0 with Win Over Terriers

BELGRADE, Maine – The Husson University women's tennis team defeated Thomas College 8-1 in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) matchup on Tuesday afternoon at New England Golf and Tennis Camp.

The Eagles improved to 2-0 (1-0 NAC) as the Terriers still search for their first victory at 0-3 (0-1 NAC).

In doubles action,  Sarah Smith and Charlotte Bednarz took down Olivia Mora and Irune Arruti Moreno on the one line, 8-3.  In number two doubles, Marisa Brown in Meridith Blessard blanked Sadie Farrand and Alexis Raymond, 8-0.

Mora earned the Terriers lone victory in number one singles play as she won 9-8 over Blessard, after a 7-5 tiebreaker. The Eagles won the remaining matches as Smith triumphed with an 8-1 victory, Bednarz cruised to an 8-0 win, and Brown captured an 8-3 victory.

The Eagles will be back in action on Saturday, September 16 with a conference match versus Lyndon State starting at 1:00 p.m.
