Sarett Sets New School Mark on Day Two of the 2017 ECAC Open Championship

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Husson University junior Lara Sarett who is the sole representative for the Husson women's swimming and diving team at the 2017 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Open Championships at the United States Naval Academy's Lejeune Hall finished 16th in the 100 Breast on day two of the championship meet. The meet features swimming & diving programs from NCAA Division I, II and III.

In Saturday morning's preliminaries, Sarett qualified in 14th place for the evening finals with a time of 1:06.38 in the 100 breast as she eclipsed her previous HU mark of 1:06.73 set at the 2016 ECAC Open Championship. She then posted a finals time of 1:06.69, which was good enough for 16th place in the event.

The Eagles currently sit in 19th place overall with one point after day two. U.S. Navy Academy leads the pack with 452 points while Bucknell University (339.5), University of Pennsylvania (316), Columbia University (240) and Marist College (237) round out the top five.

Sarett returns to the pool tomorrow morning for her preliminary swim in the 200 Breast.
