Eagles record third ever win over Saint Joseph's (Maine), 126-113

BANGOR, Maine – Husson University women's swimming & diving opened up the 2015-16 home portion of their schedule with a dual meet win over Saint Joseph's College of Maine, 126-113 on Friday evening at Webber Pool for their third over the Monks in program history.

Husson's Lara Sarett posted three wins for the Eagles on Friday. She won the 50 yard breaststroke with a new school record of 32.78, the 100 yard breaststroke with a new school record of 1:10.76 and later won the 200-yard IM coming in at 2:26.05. Gabrielle Peabody took home the win in the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 29.89.

The 200 yard freestyle relay team of Ashley Clark, Amber Britton, Peabody and Kassidy Harris rounded out the day with a win with a time of 1:49.25.

The Monks started off with a narrow 200 yard medley relay victory, as Julia Rowlett, Annie Fougere, Lauren Prue and Brooke Huberdeau posted a 2:08.89 to edge the Eagles' foursome of Megan Johnston, Harris, Sarett and Amber Britton, which posted a 2:10.02.

Lauren Halvorsen won the 1000 yard freestyle (12:31.61) and 500 yard freestyle (6:16.82). Huberdeau topped the field in the 200 yard freestyle (2:12.99) and 100 yard free (1:02.22) Alexandra Krasco added a win in the 50 yard backstroke (34.90), while Prue home the top time in the 100 yard butterfly at 1:16.02. Rowlett grabbed a wins in the 100 yard backstroke (1:12.84) and 50 yard butterfly (31.97)

The Eagles return to the pool on Saturday, November 14 when they host the University of New England starting at 6:00 p.m.
