Bosse Leads Eagles to Fifth at GNAC Championships

Boston, MA – The Husson women's swimming and diving team competed in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference 2012 Women's Swimming and Diving Championships at the Simmons College Holmes Sports Center. Simmons captured the women's championship with 313 points, and 13 GNAC records and four pool records were broken over the course of the weekend's events.

 

Husson University took fifth place honors, scoring 59 points as Martina Bosse (Brewer, ME) captured the 1 Meter diving crown for the second year in a row. Bosse scored 187.55 points to win the event and was named to the All-Tournament Team.

 

Erin Benner (Morrow, OH) swam 2:26.19 in the 200 Yard backstroke to capture second place. She also got fourth in the 50 backstroke and fifth in the 100 backstroke. To cap off her very successful weekend, Benner was also part of the 200 free relay team that finished third along with Sarah Klopp (Cape Elizabeth, ME), Katrina Aman (Lakeville, MA), and Cilana Cuthbert (West Newfield, NH), and she was on the 200 medley relay team with Megan Call (Levant, ME), Patience Wilson (Brewer, ME), and Sarah Klopp that finished fourth.

 

Megan Call finished seventh in the 200 breast and eighth in the 100 breast, and Katrina Aman finished eighth in the 1650 yard freestyle. The Eagles will be back in action on January 12 when they travel to St. Joseph's College of Maine for a 1:00 PM meet.
