FARMINGTON, Maine — Husson University women's soccer (2-5, 1-1) fell on the road to University of Maine at Farmington (3-4, 2-0) 3-2 in North Atlantic Conference Action on Saturday afternoon (NAC) at Leib Field.
Hannah Clough lead the Eagles with one goal and five shots, three of which were on goal. Leah Hibbad tallied five shots and came away with one goal. Goalkeeper Kayla Gordon had 10 saves in the loss. For the Beavers, Hadlee Yescott had two goals off six shots on goal, while Ashley Gleason had one goal and four shots total. Goalkeeper Kiana Thompson tallied seven saves.
In the first half, the Eagles grabbed two quick goals in the first seven minutes from Hibbad and Clough. Gleason then scored from an assist by Katie Clark in the eighth minute to cut the deficit to one. Yescott would then answer with two goals of her own in the second half, assisted by Clark and Humphrey to give the Beavers the 3-2 win.
The Eagles will play Thomas in NAC conference play on Tuesday September 27 at 5:00 p.m. UMF will host UMaine-Presque Isle on Sunday afternoon at 2:30 p.m.
