BANGOR, Maine - The #4 seed Husson University women's lacrosse team beat the #5 seed Maine Maritime Academy Mariners 15-8 in the North Atlantic Conference Quarterfinal on Friday afternoon at Boucher Field.
With the win, the Eagles extend their home playoff winning streak to seven games.
1st Half: The Eagles jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead as Amanda Deshaies (Wells, Maine) led the charge with a goal and two assists. The Mariners responded with two goals of their own separated by Jordyn Labrie's (Winslow, Maine) third goal of the season for the Eagles. The Eagles continued the scoring with back-to-back goals as Deshaies recorded her 40th goal of the season. She is the first player since Shelby Bradford in 2010 to score 40 goals in a season. The Mariners responded with two goals of their own thanks to Sydney Adams (Trumbull, Conn.) and Shelby O'Neil (Bar Harbor, Maine). Deshaies added her fourth goal to end the half as Husson led 9-4.
2nd Half: Adams started the scoring in the half before the Eagles registered four unanswered goals by four different goal scorers as Makenna Mont (Freetown, Mass.) had two assists in the span. Adams notched her fourth goal of the game to cut Husson's lead to 13-6 midway through the half. Both teams exchanged two goals as the Eagles went on to win 15-8.

Eagles won the shot battle 36-22 and the shots on goal 27-17. Eagles won the draw control battle 15 to 12 and the Eagles caused eight turnovers to four for the Mariners.
The Eagles will travel to Vermont to take on the Castleton Spartans in the NAC Semi-finals on Sunday, April 29th at 1:00 PM.
