PORTLAND, Maine – Saint Joseph's College (1-1) skated past Husson University (0-1), 17-1, in a non-conference women's lacrosse contest at Deering Memorial Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The Eagles were lead by Mariah Carrier who netted the lone Husson goal on a free-position shot with 2:59 left in the first half. Serian Williams scooped up five ground balls, while Amanda Deshaies added four ground balls and three caused turnovers. Kaitlin Dolloff made 14 saves in the net.
The Monks recieved goals from Elyse Caiazzo, Kelsey Dumond, Jackie Wilson, Kat Gadbois, Elizabeth Elcock, while keeper Michelle Cunha stopped six shots to pick up her first win of the season.
Saint Joseph's returns to action next Saturday with a 4:00 PM home game versus UMass.-Dartmouth, while Husson travels to Southern Maine for a 12:30 PM game next Saturday as well.
