Women’s Lacrosse Falls Short in NAC Semifinal Game

Castleton, VT – Husson women's lacrosse fell to Thomas College Saturday afternoon 20-12 in the North Atlantic Conference Semifinals.

The Eagles hung with the #2 NAC ranked Terriers for the entire first half seeing both Haley Huntington (West Gardiner, ME) and Alissa Fallon (Kennebunk, ME) score two goals in the first 30 minutes. Amanda Mora (Stratford, ME), Caitlyn Stauffer (Brookfield, CT), and Theresa Butler (Bridgton, ME) added individual goals to keep the game tied 7-7 heading into the second half.

The Terriers came out in the second half scoring 9 unanswered goals, making quite the deficit for the Eagles. Huntington scored her 3rd goal of the game to make it 16-8 Terriers.

Thomas scored another 4 goals in a row to stretch the lead to 20-8.

The Eagles weren't going down with a fight scoring 4 goals in the last 4 minutes, trying once again to upset a higher seed in the tournament.  Stauffer had 2 of the final goals. Huntington and Mora had the other 2 last minute goals.

Goalkeeper Chelsea Kondratowicz (Kingston, NY) had 14 saves in net.

This loss eliminates the Eagles from the NAC Championship.
