Bangor, ME -- Husson was unable to stop the Mules' attack this afternoon, as Colby beat the Eagles on a brisk afternoon at Boucher field. Colby was led by Katie Griffin (Duxbury, MA) who's hat trick led the Mules to a 16-3 victory. Husson's Megan Clement (Brunswick, ME) netted a pair, and Kim Gambon (Walpole, MA) had the third on a tough afternoon for the Eagle offense. Alex Huffman (North Hampton, NH) picked up a game high 7 ground balls for Husson.
Colby jumped out to an 8-0 lead mid-way through the first half when Clement succeeded on a free position shot to show some fight. The Mules scored three more before Gambon put one in with 4:48 left and Colby took an 11-2 lead into half.
Both teams traded goals in the first six minutes, but after Clement put in a goal on a nice pass from Caitlyn Stauffer (Brookfield, CT), Colby answered :30 seconds later, and then again with three more to take the 16-3 victory.
Husson returns to play Sunday when they travel to Rivier for a 1:00 contest. Colby plays again on Saturday when they return hom to host Middlebury at noon.
