Women's Golf Tied for Fifth at Empire 8 Championship

BALLSTON SPA, N.Y. – Following 18 holes at the Empire 8 Championship on Saturday, the Husson University women's golf team currently sits in a tie for fifth place with a combined team score of 387 (+99) at the Ballston Spa Country Club.

SUNY Cortland will take the lead into Sunday's final round at +43 (331) while Suffolk sits in second place at +78 (366). Johnson & Wales (R.I.) rounded out the top three at +81 (369).

Katie Goulet is tied for 2nd place on the leaderboard after carding an opening round 82 while Tori Jones is tied for 27th with a 100. Makenzie Plourde fired a 101 on Saturday and is tied for 29th while Taylor Burbo is tied for 34th at 104 and Veronica Diaz sits in 38th with a 108 card.

Husson will look to climb the team standings beginning at 9 a.m. on Sunday when it closes out the final round of the Empire 8 Championship.
