Women's Golf Caps Off Historic Weekend With a Runner-Up Finish at the 2018 MEIGA Championship

BANGOR, Maine – The Husson University women's golf team finished as the runner-up at the 2018 Maine Intercollegiate Golf Association (MEIGA) Championship at the Bangor Municipal Golf Course with a program-low two day team score of 728 (364-364).

Katie Goulet finished in third place to earn her second straight MEIGA All-State honor after shooting a new program two-day low score of 167 (85-82). Makenzie Plourde shot a two-day total of 183 (96-87) earning a sixth place finish.

Taylor Burbo finished eighth with a score of 188 (93-95), Veronica Diaz carded a 196 (90-106) and earned a tenth place finish, and Tori Jones posted a 198 (98-100) for 12th to round out the scoring for the Eagles.

Bowdoin's Caroline Farber earned her third straight individual State of Maine Intercollegiate Championship crown after shooting a 150 (78-72), while helping the Polar Bears capture their third consecutive MEIGA title with a 693 (351-342).

The Eagles return to the links at the 2018 Empire 8 Conference Championship at the Ballston Spa Country Club in Ballston, N.Y. on October 6th.
