Women's Golf Shoots Program Low 364 on Day One of the 2018 MEIGA Championship

BANGOR, Maine – The Husson University women's golf team currently sits in second place after shooting a program low 364 on day one of the 2018 Maine Intercollegiate Golf Association (MEIGA) Championship at the Bangor Municipal Golf Course.

Katie Goulet paced the Eagles on day one with an 85 card and sits seven shots back from the club house leader, Caroline Farber from Bowdoin in third place, while Veronica Diaz sits tied for fifth with Bates' Eleanor Murphy with a 90 score. Taylor Burbo shoot a 93 on day one to finish in eighth place. Makenzie Plourde entered the club house in tenth with a 96 card and Tori Jones notched a 98 and took 11th.

Bowdoin currently leads the Championship with a team score of 351.

This marked the first time in program history that all five Husson women's golfers shot under 100, while breaking the previous single-round score record by 23 strokes which was set just last weekend at the Bowdoin Invitational.

Husson returns to the links tomorrow morning for day two of the 2018 MEIGA Championship.
