  • Women's Basketball Sweeps NAC Weekly Awards

    WATERVILLE, Maine - Following their first week of games the season, the Husson women's basketball grabbed both North Atlantic Conference (NAC) weekly honors after competing in the Brandeis Invitational over the weekend. Kenzie Worcester picked up Player of the Week and Vanessa Duarte was honored with Rookie of the Week for her first time.

  • Women's Basketball Takes Down Mustangs in Exhibition Game, 59-53

    BANGOR, Maine -The Husson University women’s basketball team (1-0) tipped off their season with an exhibition game in Newman Gymnasium on Monday evening hosting Central Maine Community College Mustangs (0-1) in a non-conference game. Battling up to the final buzzer, the Mustangs nearly caught up with the Eagles in the final three minutes, just a basket away, but the Eagles maintained their composure to finish out the night with a 59-53 victory.

    BANGOR, Maine - Husson head coaches and players will hold their annual media day for all six winter sports (Men's & Women's Basketball, Men's & Women's Swimming & Diving and Men's & Women's Indoor Track & Field) on Wednesday, November 14th, from 1-2 p.m. ET inside the D. Bruce MacGregor Sports Hall of Fame Room located in William P. Newman Athletic Facility.

    WATERVILLE, Maine - Husson University sits atop the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Women's Basketball preseason coaches' poll with 61 points and five first-place votes. Maine Maritime Academy follows closely with 59 points and the remaining 3 first-place votes. The two programs combined to grab all first and second place votes heading into the season.
  • Kenzie Worcester and John Smith Named 2017-18 Husson Athletes of the Year

    BANGOR, Maine - Current student athlete - women's basketball senior guard Kenzie Worcester and - former Husson standout - football tailback John Smith - have been selected as the 2017-18 Clara Swan and Del Merrill Athletes of the Year, respectively, as announced by Director of Athletics Frank Pergolizzi on Tuesday, November 6th. They will be honored at the 2018 Husson Sports Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on December 7th, 2018, at the Spectacular Events Center and Catering.

    BANGOR, Maine- Our next top moment of the 2017-18 Husson University athletic season happened on February 24th at Castleton University as the women's basketball team beat the Maine Maritime Academy Mariners to become North Atlantic Conference Champions for the third consecutive season.

    BANGOR, Maine- Our next top moment of the 2017-18 Husson University athletic season took place in the beginning of January as junior guard Kenzie Worcester (Washburn, Maine) became the first player in program history to sweep all major weekly awards (NAC, NEWBA, MWBCA, ECAC, and D3Hoops.com). Worcester was also the first player in program history to be named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week.
