WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The Husson University women's basketball team (0-2) was defeated by Williams College (2-0), 72-54, in a road non-conference matchup on Sunday afternoon.
The Eagles were led by Kenzie Worcester (22 points, 4 rebounds). Sarah Bragg, Jordan Butler, and Joan Overman all finished the game with five points apiece. Kristin Fechtelkotter led the Ephs with 17 points (5-6 shooting).
Williams built a 12-point lead in the first quarter (21-9) behind a trio of three-pointers from Chang. This lead for the Ephs did not last long, as the Eagles came back to tie the game at 23 with 4:36 to go in the second quarter.
Williams led Husson 38-30 at halftime. The Ephs shot 15-27 (55.6%) from the field in the first half, while the Eagles just 12-32 (37.5%).
Williams started out the second half on a 14-0 run, bringing the game to 52-30 with 2:03 remaining in the third. The Ephs outscored the Eagles 15-5 in the fourth quarter, bringing their lead to 53-35. Williams maintained this lead throughout the fourth, going on to win by 18.
The Ephs had assists on 17 of their 27 field goals, whereas the Eagles assisted on 7 of 21.
