Husson Women's Basketball Commands Attention in Win Against Castleton

CASTLETON, Vt- The Husson Women's Basketball team faces Castleton in their first away game after a big victory over Lyndon State last week.

Senior Chandler Guerrette scored the first points of the game with a 3-point jump shot, assisted by Senior Denae Johnson, with 5:19 left in the first quarter.

At the end of the first quarter, Husson led Castleton 17-13.

In the second quarter, several missed attempts by both teams allowed the score to remain static. Husson held on to the lead and soon increased it with several key shots. A 3-point jump shot by Sophomore Maegan True at 7:18 allowed Husson to pull ahead with a ten point lead 23-13.

At the half, the Eagles had a comfortable lead with the score 33-15.

The third and fourth quarters brought an even more commanding lead for Husson with a 48-24 score at the end of the third and a final score of 68-36.

While Castleton attempted to mount a comeback in the final quarter, the Eagles proved dominant.

The Husson Women's Basketball team will challenge Green Mountain in an away game tomorrow January 21 at 3 p.m. EST.
