BANGOR, MAINE- The Husson Women's Basketball team hosted the Lyndon State Hornets. Coming off of yesterday's win against Johnson State, the Eagles were ready to take on the physically imposing team.
The first quarter began with the teams trading points and tying the score with every shot.
Sophomore Kenzie Worcester continued to demonstrate her skill on the court this season with several points in this quarter to start the Eagles off right.
Even with many attempts, the Eagles were down 14-12 at the end of the first quarter.
Freshman Sami Ireland dominated the scoring in the second quarter with 7 points for the Eagles. Husson regained the lead 19-14 at 7:52.
Holding the lead and capitalizing on the many Lyndon State turnovers, the Eagles were ahead 30-18 at the half.
The third quarter began with several missed shots by both teams. Soon the Eagles found their rhythm and continued to pull ahead of Lyndon State.
The third quarter ends with the Hornets falling behind 58-32.
Pressure from the Eagles resulted in a multitude of turnovers for the Hornets who continued to fall behind in the fourth quarter. With the last five minutes filled with fouls on both sides, the score continued to creep higher.
