HENNIKER, N.H. – The Women's Basketball team finished their three-game road trip with a tough 77-60 win over New England College (NEC).

The Eagles continued their undefeated start to the 2016-17 season against their conference rivals, moving to 6-0, while the Pilgrims drop to 6-3 on the season. NEC proved a formidable opponent in the match, but Husson emerged victorious having never trailed the home team during the game.

The visitors had four players finish the game with double-digit points, including Chandler Guerrette who led all players with 17 points. Anna MacKenzie finished with 13 points to go with a game-leading nine rebounds; Kenzie Worcester added 15 points, including a perfect six-for-six from the free throw line; and Darla Morales had 10 points to go along with two assists. For the home team, Mikala Malboeuf led with 12 points, and Marjani Lillard added four assists.

Husson jumped out to a quick 9-3 lead early in the 1st quarter and never relinquished the lead after that. The Eagles had to work for it, however, as the Pilgrims fought back to level the scoring at 18-18, then 20-20, in the 2nd quarter. Eight unanswered points relieved the pressure from there, and the Eagles were able to see out the 1st half on top, 35-30.

After the break the Eagles came out shooting, outscoring the Pilgrims 29-14 in an impressive 3rd quarter display. Husson finished the 3rd quarter with a 20-point lead. The visitors took their foot off the gas a bit in the 4th quarter, but the damage had already been done and the Eagles closed the match out 77-60.

The Eagles head into the holiday break as North Atlantic Conference leaders on the back of some stellar all-around team performances. The Eagles return from the break on the road again as they look to continue their undefeated run against Guilford, on Friday, December 30.
