BANGOR, Maine- The #1 Husson University softball team (19-13) beat #4 Thomas College (20-17) by the final score of 1-0 in Game 5 of the NAC Softball Tournament at O'Keefe Field on the campus of Husson University.

How it Happened:

The Eagles scored the only run of the game in the top of the first inning as Morgan Coleman (Acton, Maine) reached on a fielder's choice that scored Bri Brochu (Pittston, Maine).

Jen Jones (Acton, Maine) did the rest of the work as she pitched a one-hitter.

Batters: Husson

  • Brochu with two hits and a run scored.

  • Coleman with a hit and an RBI.

Pitchers: Husson

  • Jones (W, 14-7) pitched a complete game, allowed a hit, walked two batters, and struck out seven.

Batters: Thomas College

  • Sydney LeBourveau (Jericho, Vt.) with a hit.

Pitchers: Thomas College

  • Katlyn Coulter (Jefferson, N.H.) (L, 12-5) pitched a complete game, allowed a run on six hits, and struck out three.
