BANGOR, Maine – The Eagles swept the Falcons at home on Saturday capturing an 8-3 victory in the first game of the doubleheader, followed by a 7-0 shutout. The games were played on a more unfamiliar surface since the softball field is still recovering from all of the snow and rain, the women competed on Boucher Field where soccer and lacrosse typically play.

Nicole Andrade kicked off the bottom of the second with a bunt. She then went on to steal all the way to third while Casey Lopes took several balls leading to a walk to first. The Falcons (1-13) let a couple of errors slip, allowing Brianna Bires to advance to third off a single up the middle, letting both Andrade and Lopes score. Shortly after, Chloe Gorey sent both Bires and Briana Brochu home off of her single through the middle of the infield.
The Eagles were on a roll going into the bottom of the fourth; Sarah Bragg shot a hard double for the RBI scoring B. Brochu who made it home for her second time in a row. Smith stepped up to the plate and smashed the ball over the left field fence for a 2-run homer.
