Eagles Split Against Thomas More & Catholic

Winter Haven, FL. - The Eagles softball team split their games on Friday, in their final day of the Rebel Spring Games.

Game 1: Thomas More 7 - Husson 0

The Saints took an early lead and didn't look back, after 3 RBI singles in the 2nd inning.

The Eagles were able to get a run back in the fifth when Kayla Merrill (Bethel, ME) scored on a wild pitch. The team hit 6-26 but it wasn't enough to produce runs. Amanda Ryan (Brewer, ME) pitched 7 innings giving up 12 hits and 5 earned runs.

Game 2: Husson 7 - Catholic 4 (8 Innings)

The Eagles bounced back with an extra inning victory in game two of the double header against Thomas More, 7-4. Husson Starting pitcher K. Merril pitched 8 strong innings giving up 1 earned run with 4 strike outs.

The Saints were able to grab 2 unearned runs in the bottom of the 7th to bring the game into extras. The Eagles quickly bounced back in the 8th, taking advantage of a key error by Thomas More third baseman Erin Adams and getting three unearned runs. With the win the Eagles moved to 5-3 to finish off the Florida trip.
