Husson Blasts Green Mountain

April 10th, 2011 – (Poultney, Vt.) – Husson University tallied 31 hits and four-pitchers combined to two-hit Green Mountain College en route to a North Atlantic Conference doubleheader sweep Sunday afternoon.

The visitors notched 12 runs on 12 hits to claim game one 12-0 before exploding for 21 runs on 19 hits in a 21-0 victory in the nightcap.

Courtney Hill (Calias, Maine) tallied seven runs, six hits, a pair of stolen bases and four RBI's for Husson while Kelly Naeglin (Cohasset, Mass.) went 4-for-7 with four RBI's and a homer on the afternoon.

Amanda Ryan (Brewer Maine) gave up one hit in four innings of work in game one with four strikeouts before Naeglin came on in the fifth to close out the game.  Kody Lyon (Dalton, N.H.) logged a three-inning no-hitter in game two followed by Rebecca McCarty (Skowhegan, Maine) who finished the game with two innings of no-hit work and four K's.

Emma Lord (Greenville, N.Y.) took the loss for GMC in game one, giving up 12 runs on 12 hits.  Cass Neimeth-Lazar (Red Hook, N.Y.) went five innings and gave up 21 runs on 19 hits in game two.

The Eagles didn't help their pitching staff, committing 18 errors on the afternoon.

Green Mountain returns to action Wednesday when they head to Johnson State College for a doubleheader against the badgers.  First pitch is set for 3:30 pm.
