Men's Cross Country Takes Second at Thomas Invitational

WATERVILLE, Maine –Competing in a 5k for the first time in six weeks after multiple 8k events, the Husson men's cross country team took second at the Thomas Invitational on Friday afternoon with 39 points. 

Taking on 27 runners, sophomore Zach Hartman cruised to a third-place finish barely breaking 17 minutes with an official time of 17:02. Taking 7th and 8th place, rookie Joel Bond once again led all freshmen coming in at a time of 17:49 with freshman Ricky Smith nearly 20 seconds behind him notching 18:08. 

To round out the scoring, junior Patrick Welch crossed the finish line with a time of 18:37 for 11th place while sophomore Joey Gay raced to a respectable time of 19:53 for 19th. 

The Eagles have one week left before the North Atlantic Conference Championship on Sunday, October 28th, hosted by Maine Maritime Academy at Troy Howard Middle School.
