KEENE, N.H. – Taking his sophomore year in stride, Zach Hartman continued to lead the Eagles on the course as the Husson men's cross country team kicked off their 2018 season in Keene, N.H. at the Keene State College Rust Buster. The Eagles took 3rd out of four schools with two top-ten finishes in the 5k.

Hartman crossed in at 17:15, pacing a 5:34 mile, good enough for 4th place. Also finishing in the top-ten, freshman Joel Bond posted an impressive time for his first collegiate competition with a time of 17:31 for 8th.

Two more rookies followed in after Bond, for 13th and 15th, Ricky Smith in 18:28 and Reece Rodrigue in 18:58, to kick-off their collegiate career with a strong pace.

Trotting in a couple minutes behind were junior Patrick Welch with a time of 20:35 (19th), sophomore Joey Gay in 22:07 (21st), and the Eagles' only senior, Adam Hitchcock, finishing in 22:12 (22nd).

Husson men's cross country will be competing at the Mariner Invitational next Saturday, September 8th in Belfast, Maine.
