Men's Cross Country Takes Second in Husson Harrier Invitational

BANGOR, Maine – Freshman Zach Hartman, Freshman Joey Gay, and Freshman Chris Pomerleau set the pace at the 2017 Husson Harrier Invitational. They helped lead the Eagles to a second-place finish in the second meet of the season.

The freshmen picked up where they left off last week at the 2017 Fen's Classic. Hartman finished seventh with a time of 27:10, Gay and Pomerleau placed 10th and 11th with times of 28:31 and 28:47, respectively.

Finishing in the top 20 at the meet, Patrick Welch, Derek Hawes, and Jacob West took 16th, 17th, and 20th with times of 31:35, 32:14, and 33:27. Adam Hitchcock came in 23rd with a time of 35:03.

The Husson cross country and track and field teams combined to raise $400.00 today wth the Red Shoe Run for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Maine.

Derek Hawes, the teams only senior, was honored after the meet. 

The men will be traveling to Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada for the RSEQ AUS Interlock Meet on Saturday, September 16th.
