Balsamo and Wheeler Lead Men's Cross Country at James Earley Invitational

Westfield, Mass. - The Husson men's cross country team competed in their biggest meet of the year so far, finishing 35th of 41 teams at the 21st James Earley Invitational at Stanley Park in Westfield, Mass.

Leading the way for Husson on the day was Andrew Balsamo finish the 8k course with a time of 28:33 for 157th place. Balsamo was followed by Josh Wheeler in with a 29:44. Closing out the scoring for the Eagles were Wheeler in 237th, Derek Hawes in 248th (29:50), Nick Young in 262nd (30:03) and Jacob West in 313th (31:07) to improve their team average from last year's program's best finish of 27th at the meet.

Other Eagles to compete in the meet was Lucas Kinney who finished 313rd with a time of 31:07.

The team will be back in action next Saturday at the RSEQ AUS Interlock Meet at University of New Brunswick at Fredericton in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada.
