BRUNSWICK, Maine — The Husson University men's and women's cross country teams placed seventh and fifth in the Bowdoin Invitational this past Saturday afternoon.
The men placed seventh out of eight teams in the 8k with a total time of 2:30:00. The men finished the day with a score of 188. Bowdoin College took first place with a score of 21, while Wentworth Institue of Tech (60) and Southern Maine (76) followed the Polar Bears. Andrew Balsamo lead the Eagles with a time of 28:52.1 while Derek Hawes finished shortly after with a time of 29:18.
On the women's side, the Eagles placed fifth out of seven teams in the 6k with a total time of 2:15:15 and scoring 133 points. Wellesley took the top place with a score of 27 while Bowdoin (28) and Endicott (89) and Maine Farmington (106) finished after. Heidi Ntengeri finished first for Husson in 30th place with a time of 26:18. Morgan Clifford finished a quick 30 seconds later with a time of 26:42. Lindsay Joliat, Samantha Martin, and Shannon Bunce all finished back to back to back just under the 28 minute mark.
The Eagles are back in action as both the men and women will travel to Waterville, Maine on Saturday, October 1 for the Colby College Invitational.
