LOS ANGELES – The men's and women's outdoor track & field team displayed an incredible start to their spring season with stellar performances from both freshman and returning veterans out in sunny California in the Occidental College Distance Carnival Spring Break Classic. For the past week, the Eagles have been exploring and adventuring all over L.A. during their spring break, passing the time in anticipation for the first meet of the year.

Francesco Wright and Alex Charette wrote a new history for Husson, as they became the first men to qualify for the Division III New England Championships. Wright qualified after setting a personal best and breaking the school record in pole vault, after clearing 4.10 meters to place eighth at the event. Charette walked away in 13th place for triple jump after jumping 13.03 meters, also setting a new personal and school record for Husson, as a freshman.

Josh Wheeler contributed to the Eagle's success over in high jump, taking sixth with a personal and school record jump of 1.81 meters.

Overall, a successful spring break for the Eagles track & field team. The Eagles will have several weeks to recuperate for the Jim Sheehan Invitational down in Fitchburg, Mass. on April 1st.
