Men's Golf Places Fourth at the NEIGA Championship; Coach MacGregor Earns Prestigious NEIGA George A. Jacobsen Award

BREWSTER, Mass. – Husson University placed fourth with a 627 (314-313) team card in the 84th Annual New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Championship at The Captains Golf Course in Brewster, Mass. on Monday.

After finishing third with a 314 card on Sunday, the Eagles dropped one spot with a 32 score on Monday.

Babson College won the 84th Annual NEIGA Championship by one over Williams College with a 613 (313-300) card. St. Anselm took home the Division II crown.

Dylan Pliss of Franklin Pierce University won the Division II title with a score of 147 that featured a tournament-low 68 in the final round.

The overall champion went to Middlebury College's Reid Buzby. The day one co-leader shot an even par 72 on the Port Course on Monday to win the championship by one over Babson's Niko Gianelos.

For Husson, senior Gavin Dugas tied for 5th (152, 75-77) to earn his second career All-New England Honor, senior Mackenzie Clow tied for 19th (158, 76-82), senior Taylor Morang tied for 30th (160, 82-78), senior Daulton Wickenden tied for 44th (162, 86-76), and sophomore Eric Dugas tied for 54th (164, 81-83).

Assistant Coach Bruce MacGregor was chosen as the 2018 NEIGA George A. Jacobsen Award recipient at the 84th Annual NEIGA Championship Awards Banquet on Saturday evening.

"He has meant so much to our program and players," Head Coach Mike Dugas said. "Congrats coach."

The Eagles will return to the links in the Spring of 2019.
