Men's Golf Takes Second at the 2018 Williams Fall Invitational

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - After capturing the program's 18th Maine Intercollegiate Golf Association title last weekend, the Husson men's golf team trekked down to Williamstown, Mass. to play in the 2018 Williams College Fall Invitational at the Taconic Golf Club. The Eagles who shot a team score of 305 on day one, moved up four spots on day two to take the runner-up honors with a 605 (305-300).

The reigning North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Player of the Week, Gavin Dugas led the Eagles with a 148 (76-72) card and finished in sixth overall.

Senior Taylor Morang also faired well with a 153 (78-75) score and was tied for 16th overall while senior Daulton Wickenden finished in a tie for 28th with a 155 (82-73) card.

Senior Mackenzie Clow shot a 156 (76-80) and tied for 32th and sophomore Eric Dugas finished tied for 48th with a 159 (75-84) score.

Williams' Sam Goldenring topped the 104-player field with a two under-par 140 (69-71) to help the Ephs claim the team title with a 588 (296-292) score, followed by Husson and Trinity (Conn.) rounded out the top three with a 607 (309-298).

The 2018 Williams Fall Invitational marked the first time since the 2006 NCAA DIII Northeast District Shoot-Out that Husson has played a tournament at the Taconic Golf Club.

The Eagles will resume play in the month of October with an appearance in the Blazer Fall Invitational, hosted by Elms College. The two-day tournament will be held on October 7th-8th at The Orchards Golf Club in South Hadley, Mass.
