Men's Golf Sits in Second After Day One of 44th Annual MEIGA Championship

BANGOR, Maine - Gavin Dugas shot a 71 and finished tied for second to lead the defending Eagles on day one of the 44th Annual Maine Intercollegiate Golf Association (MEIGA) Championship at the Bangor Municipal Golf Course. Husson finished the day in second place with a score of 296.

Mackenzie Clow finished tied for 7th with a score of 74. Taylor Morang shot a 75 and finished tied for 12th. Eric Dugas carded a 76 and sits tied for 15th. Daulton Wickenden rounded out the scoring for the Eagles with a score of 79 and finished tied for 27th.

Other Eagles who are playing in the championship as individuals: Pat Cathanuan shot a 71 and sits tied for 5th, Riley Swanson entered the club house tied for 7th with a 74 card, Nick Mazurek finished tied for 12th with a 75, Bailey Nangle carded a 76 good enough for a three way tie for 15th, and Hunter Flynn tied for 21st with a 78.

University of Southern Maine is in the lead with a score of 295, followed by Husson, then Bates rounds out the top three with a score of 308.

Jack Griffith from Colby currently sits atop the leaderboard with a two-under par 69.

The Eagles return to the course tomorrow afternoon for the second day of the 44th Annual MEIGA Championship.
