LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Husson University men's golf team kicked off the 2018-19 season by finishing eighth with a 891 (295-303-293) team card in the Transylvania Fall Invitational at the University Club of Kentucky Big Blue Course on Saturday and Sunday.
Senior Gavin Dugas earned medalist honors with a three-round score of 210 (70-72-68). Senior Mackenzie Clow tied for 23rd with a 222 (72-74-76), while fellow senior Daulton Wickenden tied for 50th after shooting a 229 (76-79-74). Sophomore Eric Dugas carded a 231 (77-78-76) good enough to tie for 57th place. Senior Taylor Morang rounded out the scoring for the Eagles with a three-round total of 234 (79-80-75) to finish in 66th.
#11 Wittenberg University won the event with an 856 (289-286-281) team card, while the host school Transylvania University took the runner-up honors with a score of 871 (285-295-291).
The tournament featured four schools (#11 Wittenberg, #12 Greensboro, #14 Kenyon, #20 Otterbein) who are ranked in the preseason edition of Bushnell Golfweek Division III Coaches Poll.
Husson returns to action on September 15th when the team hosts the 44th Annual MEIGA Championship at the Bangor Municipal Golf Course.
