CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. – Jumping up to second place after two rounds at the 47th Annual Marine Federal Credit Union Championship, the Husson men's golf team held a cumulative score of 605, just three strokes behind Surry Community College. Unfortunately, the final day of competition was cancelled due to a rainstorm so the Eagles had to return home a day early.
Mackenzie Clow sat atop the leaderboard averaging an even par score between the two days after posting a 74 (+2) on Friday followed by a 68 (-2) on Saturday for the best score of the weekend, finishing with a 142.
Four other Eagles were separated by four shots. Eric Dugas came in 21st out of 74 competitors, shooting a 153 (+11), recovering after a rough first day, he came back to shoot two over par on Saturday. Gavin Dugas and Daulton Wickenden tied three other student-athletes with an overall score of 155. G. Dugas shot three over par the second day while Wickenden managed just two extra strokes. The final Eagle to compete, was Husson's Taylor Morang, tying four other competitors for 39th shooting a 157 between both rounds.
The Husson men's golf team will be back on the course for competition on April 13th and 14th at the Allendale Country Club for the Westport Hampton Inn Spring Invitational.
