Men's Golf Clinches 2016 NAC Championship

BANGOR, Maine – Husson held a two-stroke advantage after the opening day of play and never looked back, as the Eagles claimed their 11th North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Championship title in 13 years with a two-day total of 584 at the Bangor Municipal Golf Course.

The Eagles managed to record an impressive 289 in the opening round before posting a 295 on the final day to secure an automatic berth in the 2017 NCAA Championship.

Salem State University came in well behind with a final score of 610, Maine Farmington followed with 616, while Castleton came up just short behind clinching the fourth spot at 618.

Husson's Daulton Wickenden turned in the best score of the tournament (141) while Zachary Temple of Castleton University was three strokes behind for a total score of 144. Husson's Mackenzie Clow came in third with a score of 145 and Philip Thome with 147. Chad Alibozek of Salem State University finished with a 148 on the day giving him the fifth spot. Eric Aguiar won the tie breaker for sixth place as he shot an impressive 33 on the back nine to have his spot solidified

Freshman Tyler Swarthout finished tied for 12th with a score of 155, while sophomore Taylor Morang finished tied for ninth after shooting a 151 for the Eagles.
