Men's Golf Captures Their Second-Consecutive Tournament at the USM Fall Classic

GORHAM, Maine – Mackenzie Clow shot a career low 69 and claimed Medalist honors from one stroke down to help Husson University win the University of Southern Maine Fall Classic on Monday at Gorham Country Club. The Eagles posted a 304-team card en route to pacing the ten-team field and claiming their second-consecutive tournament and second overall this season.

Clow won his first collegiate Medalist finish with a two-day score of 105 while Daulton Wickenden was second with a 110 after shooting a 75. Taylor Morang shot a 79 earning him a tie for seventh with a total score of 116. Philip Thome tied for 18th with a 118 after a round of 81 and Tyler Swarthout finished tied for 41st with a 126 after posting an 86.

Southern Maine finished as the runner-up with a 459 (150-309), University of New England was third with a 474 (160-314), and University of Massachusetts of Dartmouth placed fourth with a 476 (162-315). University of Maine at Farmington (479, 163-316), Bowdoin College (480, 157-323), Nichols College (482, 164-318), Saint Joseph's College (Maine) (483, 159-324), Johnson & Wales (R.I.) (490, 158-332) and Emmanuel (Mass.) (553, 182-371) rounded out the field of competing institutions.

Husson returns to the links on Saturday, Oct. 15 when they host the 2016 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Men's Golf Championship, looking to capture their 11th title in the last 13 years, at the Bangor Municipal Golf Course.
