John Clark enters his seventh season as a men’s basketball assistant coach in 2018-19.

OVERVIEW:

Since joining the staff prior to the 2012-13 season, Clark has helped guide the Eagles to four North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Championships and trips to the NCAA DIII Championship Tournament. Over that time frame, Clark has contributed to the winning tradition of the Husson men’s basketball program that has resulted in six winning seasons with a combined 127-41 (.756) record, while coaching four NAC Players of the Year, two NAC Defensive Players of the Year, four Conference Tournament MVPs, an All-American, one ECAC New England Player of the Year, one State of Maine Player of the Year and 14 All-Conference, 12 Conference All-Tournament, four NABC Honors Court, three NABC and d3Hoops.com All-Northeast Region Team, two All-State Rookie Team, one All-State Defensive Team, two All-ECAC New England, and seven All-State selections.

PREVIOUSLY:

Clark has been playing, coaching and actively involved in basketball for 50 years. After moving to Maine 26 years ago he started coaching at Foxcroft Academy and has been involved in coaching and skill development since then

PERSONAL:

He is a Certified Skill Development Trainer through Ganon Baker Basketball, a Certified Strength and Conditioning coach through the National Academy of Sports Medicine and a Certified Functional Strength Coach (CFSC) through Mike Boyle in Boston.

Clark holds a bachelor’s degree from Eastern Illinois University. The 1982 graduate earned one letter as a forward at Eastern Illinois University, appearing in 12 games during the 1979-80 season. He played one season at Northern Illinois University in 1975-76, prior to transferring to Eastern Illinois, all the while playing with and against some great college and professional players in the summer and winter leagues in Chicago.

After earning his undergraduate degree at Eastern Illinois he went on to Northwestern University to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery before moving to Maine to open up his own dental practices in Dover-Foxcroft and Bangor.

A native of Chicago, Ill., Clark attended Maine West High School. He and his wife, Lisa, reside in Bangor, Maine and they have one daughter, Marley, and son, Alex “Zeek”.
