Chris Bryant enters his third season as a men’s basketball assistant coach in 2018-19 and serves as Director of Day Clinics and Camps and Academic Officer.

OVERVIEW:

Since joining the program prior to the 2016-17 season, Bryant has helped guide the Eagles to a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Championship and trip to the NCAA DIII Championship Tournament in 2016-17. Over that time frame, Bryant has contributed to the winning tradition of Husson men’s basketball program that has resulted in two winning seasons with a combined 40-14 (.702) record, while coaching two NAC Players of the Year, one NAC Defensive Player of the Year, one Conference Tournament MVP, an All-American, one ECAC New England Player of the Year, one State of Maine Player of the Year and five All-Conference, four Conference All-Tournament, two NABC and d3Hoops.com All-Northeast Region Team, two All-ECAC New England, one All-State Rookie Team, one All-State Defensive Team and one All-State selections.

PREVIOUSLY:

Bryant arrived at Husson after spending one season (2015-16) as the head boys varsity basketball and baseball coach at Mattanawcook Academy in Lincoln, Maine where he compiled an overall record of 2-16 in basketball, a one game approvement from the previous season and a 13-4 record in baseball with a MPA Class C Quarterfinal appearance in 2015.

Prior to his time at Mattanwcook Academy, Bryant spent two seasons at Mount View High School as an assistant boys varsity basketball coach and head boys JV coach from 2013-15.

Bryant came to Mount View from Mattanawcook Academy, where he was an assisant girls varsity basketball coach and head girls JV coach from 2010-13. He also served as the head coach for the Black Bear AAU Girls Basketball team from 2012-14.

PERSONAL:

Bryant graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2005 from University of Connecticut with a Bachelor of Science in Diagnostic Genetic Science before earning a Masters of Science in Education from the University of Southern Maine in 2012. He has worked both in the field of genetics and most recently as a biology teacher at Bangor High School.

A native of Freedom, Maine, Bryant attended Mount View High School. He and his wife, Emily reside in Bangor with their two children, Zoey and Miles.
