PRESQUE ISLE, Maine - Freshman guard Justice Kendall picked up the Eagles' first Maine Men's Basketball Coaches and Writers Association (MMBCWA) weekly award of the season after an impressive performance on the court this past week, he was named Rookie of the Week. Senior forward Justin Martin was recognized on the MMBCWA Honor Roll.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Freshmen, 6-0 Guard, Baltimore, Md.
Kendall had an all-around great week helping Husson to a 3-0 week. Kendall averaged 13.7 points 5.0 rebounds, 5.7 assists, and 1.7 steals per game. Kendall shot an efficient 54.8% from the field on the week (17-31). On Monday night, Kendall led all scorers with 19 points helping lead Husson to a 71-64 victory over Lasell. Kendall would follow up with two solid double digit scoring performances as Husson started off conference play with two wins over NVU-Lyndon and NVU-Johnson.
Senior, 6-6 Forward, Winslow, Maine
Martin averaged a double-double in a 3-0 week for the Eagles averaging 11.3 points and 11.0 rebounds, as well as 2.3 blocks per game. He became the all-time career block leader in program history with 166 total blocks in the win over Lasell on Monday night while also achieving his second back-to-back double-double with a career-high 16 boards and 14 points.
