BANGOR, Maine - The Husson University men's basketball team (5-1) was in full attack mode offensively on Saturday afternoon as they took down Northern Vermont University-Johnson (0-7) in Husson's second North Atlantic Conference (NAC) game on back-to-back days with a final score of 101-65.
The Eagles started out very strong in the opening minutes of the game, nearly unstoppable behind the arc draining a trio of threes on an amazing 15-0 run against NVU-Johnson in which all five starters netted a basket throughout the four minute span.
Seven minutes into the game, Husson's lead grew to 20 off a Bruce St. Peter layup.
To close out the half, Husson's bench came in and continued to rack in the points with Trey Sibert dunking a lobbed pass by Justice Kendall to give the Eagles a commanding 30-point lead with six minutes left in the half and maintain that steady advantage into the second half, 61-35.
The Badgers played with more intensity in the second half as they looked to cut the difference, holding Husson to 40 points as Bussey continued to shoot lights sinking three straight threes. From there, the Eagles maintained a comfortable lead to finish out the afternoon with a 101-65 conference victory.
DJ Bussey led all scorers, tying his game-high this season with 22 points including a whopping six 3-pointers.
Justin Martin had a near double-double with 12 boards, nine points, and four assists.
Cole Thomas had very efficient 18 points for a career-high on 6-9 shooting (3-4 from behind the arc) to go with three rebounds and four assists.

Tyrese Smith led all Badgers on the scoreboard with 13 points.
Robert Dubose posted just shy of a double-double knocking in 12 points and eight
Tyhee Taylor contributed dishing out four assists and netting seven points while shooting 3-4 from the charity stripe.
Husson will be returning home for a non-conference matchup against Bates College on Tuesday, December 4th at 7:00 p.m. in Newman Gymnasium.
