BANGOR, Maine – The Husson University men's basketball team and 6-time North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Champion Head Coach Warren Caruso have officially released their schedule for the 2017-18 season.
The Eagles begin the season with an exhibition game against the University of Maine on October 28.
Husson will tip-off the regular season at their long time rival Saint Joseph's (Maine) on November 19 and will travel to Presque Isle to play their 130th match-up against Maine-Presque Isle on Tuesday, November 21. Coach Warren Caruso on their conference schedule, "As always, playing 18 conference games is a challenge. You become so familiar with each other, it seems to be a battle every night". The Eagles' first home game will begin conference play and will be against Thomas (Maine) on Tuesday, November 28 at 7:00 pm in a rematch of last year's NAC Championship game.
The month of December will start with a home game against NAC rival Maine Maritime Academy on December 2 at 3:00 pm. Husson will play three road games before they take the trip to Florida. Bates College in Lewiston on December 2, Green Mountain in Poultney, Vermont, on December 8, and Castleton University in Castleton, Vermont on December 9, are the three road games before the green and gold board the plane.
The Eagles will wrap-up the month of December with two games in Florida. Coach Caruso on the Florida trip, "Our non-conference schedule is highlighted with a trip to the Cruzin' Classic put on by Trip Sports. We will play two quality non-conference games in a great setting". On Sunday, December 17, Husson will play in the Trip Sports Cruzin' Classic in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, against St. Mary's (Md.). Husson will finish the Trip Sports Cruzin' Classic on December 18 against Simpson.
When the Eagles return back to Maine, their road trip will continue with stops at NAC rivals Maine Maritime (Jan. 6) and Maine-Farmington (Jan. 9) to open the 2018 portion of the schedule. Six of the next eight games will take place in the Newman Gymnasium. Colby-Sawyer (Jan. 12), New England College (Jan. 13), Bowdoin (Jan. 16), Colby (Jan. 23), Castleton (Jan. 26), and Green Mountain (Jan. 27) will all travel to 1 college circle to take on the Eagles. Husson will take a road trip to Vermont to play Johnson State on Friday, January 19, and Lyndon State on Saturday, January 20.
The Eagles will open the month of February at New England College on Friday, February 2, and the following day will take on Colby-Sawyer (Feb. 3) before traveling home to host Lyndon State (Feb. 9) and Johnson State (Feb. 10). The men's basketball seniors will be honored on February 10th at 3:00 pm before they take on the Badgers. Husson will host Maine-Farmington on Wednesday, February 14, to close out the regular-season slate.
The NAC tournament begins the following week and runs from February 20-24.

Husson graduated three seniors off a 21-7 squad which captured the program's 6th North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Championship in the last nine years and their 4th in the last five years. The Eagles recorded their 5th straight 20+ win season and 33rd consecutive winning season.
