CASTLETON, Vt- The Husson Men's Basketball team face Castleton while coming off of a very close loss to Lyndon State on January 14.

The first half of the game began with several missed shots by Husson. The Eagle's luck quickly turned around, however, when Senior Raheem Anderson made two free throw attempts that would set the pace for the rest of the game at 17:57.

Husson and Castleton traded points back and forth for much of the first half. A final jump shot by Sophomore Justin Martin brought the score to 32-39, with Castleton in the lead.

The second half started with a quick rebound by Freshman Justin Smith that turned into a layup opportunity for Anderson.

The fouls by Castleton began to pile up and the lead quickly disappeared for the Spartans. By the 15 minute mark, the Eagles had overtaken Castleton.

Shots made by Anderson, Martin, Junior Mitch Worcester, Senior Alonzo McCain, and Freshman Babafemi Onigbanjo kept Husson competitive.

Neck and neck, the teams were tied at the sound of the last buzzer and the game went into overtime.

With many fouls from both teams, Husson was able to capitalize on their free throw attempts and won the game 77-71 over Castleton.

The Husson Men's Basketball team will challenge Green Mountain in an away game tomorrow January 21 at 1 p.m. EST.
