BANGOR, Maine -. It was a slow start to the game Tuesday night at home against Thomas College for men's basketball. After some time, the Eagles finally settled into their groove, setting an early lead in the first half doubling the Terriers score 20-10 in the first nine minutes, causing Thomas to call a timeout to regroup.
Husson breaks ahead on the board, leaving the Terriers' in their dust as they boost their lead to 42-20 with three minutes left in the half.
First to break double digits in the game, Raheem Anderson scored his 10th point in the last two minutes of the first half. So far this season, Anderson has recorded the most points for his team accumulating 234.
On the other side of the court, the Terriers' also had a player hitting double digits, Carolos Gonzalez with 10 points.
The Terriers' displayed a very clean first half, only giving up an impressive two fouls while also shooting a consistent 55.6% from the line.
Ending the first half, the Husson men maintained a steady doubled score, leading 48-24.
Thomas College started off the second half not only with the ball, but also the first points. They definitely found their second wind, taking control of the court for the first four minutes, outscoring the Eagles 9-3.
Play began getting a little physical, with more fouls dished out in the first 9 minutes of the second half than in the entire first half combined with 9 fouls for the Husson men and 4 for their opponent.
With 10 minutes remaining, the Eagles held their lead of over twenty points with a score of 66-41.
First to conquer 20 points in the game was Gonzalez for the Terriers', still leading his team in the game, as well as second on his team overall this season with 155 points.
With just three minutes left in the game, the men from Thomas College have quickly slimmed down Husson's lead to nine points with a score of 72-63. With some heated final minutes of the game, the Terriers' couldn't quite catch up with the Eagles resulting in a final score of 79-67.
Not only a leading scorer in tonight's game with 22 points, Raheem Anderson also hit a mile marker 1,400 career points
